About Centre for Net Zero
We combine the roles of industry researcher, modelling tech startup, and research-to-policy conduit.
CNZ is a team of data scientists, economists, strategists and policy experts delivering end-to-end research. This means we not only conceive, design and run the research that will have the most impact, we also use that research ourselves to instigate real-world change. We run field trials around the world, build models and tools, and generate data and insights that we use to make change happen.

CNZ was founded in 2021 by Octopus Energy Group (OEG), a global clean energy tech business, driving the affordable, green energy system of the future.
The Group's operations span 18 countries and the entire energy value chain, and it services 7.7 million households globally under its retail brand.
As a not-for-profit part of OEG, we pursue change for the whole energy landscape. We lead our own research agenda and operate autonomously.
